Henry Raby: Hope and Anger

8:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Studio, York Theatre Royal (YO1 7HD)

About This Event

Punk poet
Henry Raby
wrestles through the twin emotions of hope and anger with a spoken word cocktail of poetry and comedy. A hilarious and heartfelt attempt to understand the righteous and the rotten, come and share in fist-clenched frustration and celebrate examples of the world, and the heartfelt people in it, at their shiniest and brightest.
A show that’s an urgent reminder we can’t just cross our fingers and hope for the best.
Henry Raby has 20 years of performance poetry under his belt thanks to sheer bloody-mindedness. His work has been described as playful, highly-charged, passionate and anarchic! He co-runs York’s poetry organisation Say Owt and has performed at music, arts and literature festivals across the UK, including Edinburgh Fringe, Deer Shed, Latitude, Greenbelt and Boomtown Fair.
This show is part of
The Old Paint Shop
season, which transforms our Studio into a cabaret club.
Seating is unreserved, so be sure to grab your seats early and get a drink at the bar.
