This October and November, we invite you to step beyond the dining room and into the world of wine at The Black Swan at Oldstead, with a series of four intimate masterclasses exploring the craft, character and provenance of exceptional wines.
The Oldstead Wine Seriesbrings together our cellar, our kitchen and our approach to flavour for four different masterclasses of discovery. Each date offers a unique theme, from the art of pairing wine with the flavours of Oldstead to an exploration of South Africa’s diverse regions, producers and terroirs. The series will culminate in The Judgement of Oldstead: a blind tasting inspired by the legendary Judgement of Paris of 1976, pitting Old World against New World wines.
Each experience begins at2.30pmin our downstairs bar, where our Sommelier will guide you through six carefully selected wines, before check-in at3.30pmto one of our beautifully appointed bedrooms. That evening, settle in for a Michelin-starred tasting menu at The Black Swan, followed by a leisurely breakfast the following morning.
With just four dates available, each masterclass offers a rare opportunity to experience Oldstead through the lens of wine, food and place.
