Viking Weekend, Sat 11th & Sunday 12th July
Come and experience life in the turbulent Viking Age as the seaborne Scandinavians clash with the ancient kingdom of Northumbria. Viking reenactment group ‘Vanaheim’ will be putting on displays of crafts, cooking and combat. Experience the sights and smells of the Viking village and the clash of swords and shields in their battle displays.Normal garden entry applies.
11.30am Weapons display – learn about the weaponry, armour & tactics
12.15pm Kiddie Vike – visiting kids train in the shield wall against the Vikings
1.30pm Sharp weapons display
