York Open Studios 2026

York Open Studios is an annual community arts event where the public can visit artists’ studios and workshops within about ten miles of York city centre. It’s designed around artists opening their studio doors so visitors can experience both finished work and the creative process, often with tools, materials, or demonstrations on show. In 2026 it runs across two weekends, 18 to 19 April and 25 to 26 April. Core opening hours are published as 10:00 to 17:00 each day, with an optional preview evening on Friday 17 April for some participants. Visitors can plan routes using the website’s interactive map and directory, and many artists show and sell work directly from their spaces.
